Kendall Scott (Kickapoo Tribe of Oklahoma) Graduate Student
Kendall R. Scott, Jr. (Kickapoo Tribe of Oklahoma, Bear Clan) is a public health advocate and mentor dedicated to advancing health equity for Indigenous communities. Currently pursuing his Master of Public Health (MPH) at Brown University, Kendall’s work is rooted in addressing systemic barriers to culturally responsive healthcare. His leadership experience includes serving as Director of the Native American Future Stewards Program at Rochester Institute of Technology, where he provides mentorship and academic support to Native students.
For his Healers Community Cohort project, Kendall is developing “Cultural Wellness and Resilience: A Guide for Native Health Students.” This resource will integrate Indigenous cultural values with wellness strategies and professional guidance to support Native students pursuing health careers. The guidebook will feature:

💡 Interactive elements, including goal-setting templates and mentorship tips
Through interviews with Native health leaders, community engagement, and digital accessibility, Kendall aims to empower the next generation of Native health professionals while strengthening mentorship networks. His project underscores the importance of Indigenous knowledge in modern healthcare, inspiring students to succeed while staying deeply connected to their cultural identity.
