Nicolette Brown (Northern Arapaho & Eastern Shoshone) 2nd Year Medical Student

From the Wind River Indian Reservation to the halls of the University of Washington School of Medicine, Nicolette's journey has been one of unwavering resilience, determination, and heart. Inspired by her family's experiences and the healthcare disparities in her community, she set her sights on becoming a physician from an early age.

Her path has been filled with triumphs and hardships—losing loved ones, facing academic challenges, and navigating personal health struggles. Yet, she continues to push forward, driven by the strength of her ancestors and the dream of serving Indigenous communities.

Now, as she prepares for the next steps in her medical training, Nicolette finds healing in beading, a practice that has also sharpened her surgical skills. She hopes to pursue a career in a surgical field, blending traditional knowledge with modern medicine.
